Yes, our shepherd huts and safari lodges each have their own wood-fired hot tub, firepit/BBQ, pizza oven and terrace area so you are not required to share these facilities.
The glamping site has been carefully designed with the accommodation situated around the edge of the field to provide complete privacy.
Rodham House is a semi-detached property that you rent in its entirety, making it a private space throughout your stay. The garden is fenced and you have exclusive use of the wood-fired hot tub, firepit, BBQ and pizza oven. The hot tub is carefully positioned in a nook of the garden to ensure complete privacy for you.
Rolo is very much a part of our family and we understand you might have furry family members too, so we are happy to welcome dogs to Fenland Retreats however we require prior notice and adherence to our conditions. We allow a maximum of one small or medium dog in our Shepherd’s Huts and Safari Lodges. Rodham House is able to accommodate up to two small or medium dogs. We charge a fee payable prior to arrival for bringing your dog and have a dog policy in place which are detailed in our terms and conditions. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when outside and all mess must be cleaned up immediately. Please note our farm dogs may be around the site and off the lead, so we can only permit friendly and well-behaved dogs in our accommodation.
Oh yes, we love to help with surprises! You can choose to add on flowers when you book or if there is anything in particular you would our support in arranging then we’re always happy to help. We’ve been a secret organiser of many special occasions and Fenland Retreats is perfect for short breaks to celebrate special events such as birthdays, anniversaries, and engagements.
Once you have fully secured your booking you will get a confirmation email and a link to your accommodation specific welcome pack which covers details about what to bring, how to get here and suggestions of places to visit during your stay. We advise that you read through the ‘before you leave home’ section and begin to plan your trip before you arrive as some aspects, such as the optional extras, some local attractions, and some popular eating places, require pre-booking. The welcome pack app is also handy to keep on your phone and covers details such as maps and useful contact numbers.
For all Rodham House bookings we require a £500 damage deposit which is refundable following your stay, subject to inspection. Any damage, excessive cleaning requirements or evidence that you have not adhered to our policies will result in a deduction from the damage deposit.
This fee of £500 is requested via email 7 days prior to check in and payment must be settled prior to check-in. Failure to do so is considered a cancellation by you, with our cancellation terms applying. Following inspection the deposit will be refunded, in full unless deductions are required, to the original payment method within 7 days of check-out.
We are following all of the latest government guidance on cleaning for guest accommodation and use recommended cleaning materials for your safety – we’re part of the Visit England ‘Good to Go’ scheme. As your accommodation is private and there are no communal spaces, social distancing is easy to adhere to. Check in and check out is contactless, as is the duration of your stay, unless you require our assistance in which case social distancing and precautions will be in place.
All of our accommodation is self check-in, although we’re often around the farm in the afternoon and love to say hello if we see you arrive. Late arrivals are not a problem, so if you need to complete a day’s work and then travel here just let us know and we’ll make sure everything’s ready for your arrival time.
All of our accommodation is available for check in from 4pm. Please check out by 10am promptly on the day of departure to help our housekeeping team achieve a smooth changeover for our next guests.
Fenland Retreats is all about you-time, so the main thing is to leave your timetable and schedule at home and bring a willingness to step back and take things easy. The Welcome Pack will tell you all the things we have available here, including our optional add-ons that allow you to personalise your trip and make it a really indulgent break! This also details a few suggestions for things to bring with you that you might not have automatically added to your packing list.
The welcome pack is in the form of a handy app you can save onto your phone for easy access before and during your stay. This has everything you need to make sure that your stay is as enjoyable as possible. It includes the nitty gritty things like maps and useful contact numbers, details of what’s included in our accommodation and suggestions of things to pack, as well as details of our luxurious optional add-ons to help you personalise your stay. If you’re coming for a special occasion or need to arrange any secret surprises, just let us know and we’ll help you to make someone’s day very special.
